I am Ellen, fashion designer, maker and teacher, based in Rotterdam. I have gained a lot of knowledge in the field of (technical) fashion design, garment construction and pattern drawing. Nowadays I am also focusing on sustainability by repairing and upcycling garments and textiles."
Work & Skills
As a designerI am involved in the complete design process of collections. This includes concept creation, designing garments, making tech packs, and handling fitting and sample follow-ups.
I am experienced in designing for both menswear and womenswear across all product groups, from accessories to outerwear.
I have always had an interest for garment construction, tailoring and pattern making. As a tailor I can make prototypes or finished garments, including patterns.
My interest in sustainability is growing constantly, and over the past few years I have focused on garment repairs and fashion upcycling.
Besides designing and sewing I also teach fashion and sewing to both children and adults. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills with others.
I offer lessons and workshops in sewing skills, upcycling and clothing repair.
