About Me
I am Ellen, a freelance fashion designer, maker and teacher, based in Rotterdam. I’ve always had a passion for sewing and making my own clothes, and started sewing from a young age.
In 2004 I started at Willem de Kooning academy where I learned how to create collections, and how to put my ideas and designs into patterns and garments. Over the years I have gained more knowledge in this area by following several classes and courses, and of course a lot of work experience.
By now, I have a wide range of experience in the fashion and textile industry, like (technical) fashion design, sewing and pattern making, repair and upcycling, and education. And I am still not done learning!
What I like most is to combine all these different areas, and to combine my creativity with my practical technical skills.
