Fashion design
As a designer I worked for several fashion brands, for both men- and womenswear. For these brands I designed all product groups, from outerwear to accessoires. As a designer I’m involved in the complete design process of the collections. This includes create concepts and moodboards, pick fabrics and colors and make designs & artworks. I am also involved in the technical design part and product development. This includes making tech packs, size specs and fit and follow up the samples. Over the years I gained a lot of knowledge in designing collections, garment construction, production processes, fitting and pattern making.
tailoring & pattern making
I always had a strong passion for garment construction, tailoring and pattern making, and started sewing from a young age. At the Willem de Kooning academy I learned how to put my ideas and designs into patterns and garments. Over the years I have gained more knowledge in this area by following several classes and courses, and a lot of work experience. I have done tailoring jobs for clothing, and for theater and performers costumes. And experience in a sewing studio, working on clothing repairs and upcycled items. I like to combine my creativity with my practical technical skills.
TEACHING
Besides working as a designer and tailor I’m teaching in fashion and sewing. I like to share my knowledge in this field with other people. At the moment I teach adults and kids in sewing and pattern making. Besides this I’m also providing workshops at secondary schools about fashion and textile.
