Design, Sewing & workshops
I am Ellen, a freelance fashion designer, maker and teacher, based in Rotterdam. I’ve always had a passion for sewing and making my own clothes. Over the years I gained a lot of knowledge in the area of (technical) fashion design, garment construction and pattern drawing. Nowadays I am also focussing on sustainability by repairing and upcycling garments and textile.
Work & Services
As a designer I am involved in the complete design process of collections. This includes create concepts, design the garments, make techpacks and size specs, and fit and follow up the samples.
I am experienced in designing for both men- and womenswear in all kind of product groups, from accessories to outerwear.
I’ve always had big a passion for garment construction, tailoring and pattern making. As a tailor I can make prototypes and samples or finished garments, including the patterns.
Also my interest for sustainability is growing more and more, and in the past years I focused on garment repairs and upcycling fashion.
Besides designing and sewing I’m also teaching in fashion and sewing to both kids and adults. I like to share my knowledge and skills with other people.
I provide lessons and workshops in sewing skills, upcycling and clothing repair.
